About me

My name is Nevenka Sabo aka Nena.
I’m from beautiful small town Subotica, in the northwest of Serbia. Actually I love living here with my husband and our crazy schnauzer Barnie.

I have a wild imagination and I've always had a need to create something with my hands. In the early childhood I've started painting (not very successfully) and cross stitching, which I adore till present day. During the years I’ve tried out almost every hobby technique I’ve heard off. That can tell you how curious I am.
It took me a lot of time and a lot of courage to start showing others some of my creations. It was really surprising how many positive reactions and support I got. So I continued creating, showing, making presents and selling a little bit. Since 2005 I’ve been participating local xmas exhibitions.

One evening in March 2007 I decided to check out that polymer clay everybody is talking about and I was enchanted immediately. It was a love at first cane. It’s been a part of my life every single day since. I’m reading, learning and trying out as much techniques as I can. It is exciting and surprising adventure each time I take FIMO in my hands.
Every single piece of jewelry on this website is made by me. I do all the work alone, from conditioning the clay, caning, bead making, sanding, buffing and putting the beads together.
I work with love, enthusiasm and generally enjoy every claying moment of my life.
I’m truly happy.

And my happiness is expanding. Extremely talented artist, distinguished teacher and generous-hearted woman Lisa Pavelka honored me by becoming my mentor.

At the beginning of my claying I started a Studio Danubio website with some friends and after a while decided to go alone so here we are!

I am running a blog in Serbian language called "Crtice o polimerskoj glini" from april 2008. My goal is to introduce the world of polymer clay to people who don't speak foreign languages.

In May 2009 I've started a new blog , written in English language, named "My Way to Clay". It's primary purpose is to have easier communication with my friends all over the world.

My work has been published in women magazine Lisa in fashion section.
